Hi im new to this site so hope ive posted on the right topic site.

Im mum of twin girls aged 3 and 25 weeks preg. I havent been in my job long enough to qualify for SMP. Will be claiming MA. Got made redundant from my last job so needed to get something quick.

My dilemma is should i go back to work? Not on a great income partner not on a great income. Would i be better off quiting and take time off for a bit. would i be financially better off?

Plus im moving to a different area in a bigger house so rent is going to be higher. Kids are currently in nursery can just about afford that.

Not sure what my entitlements are if i get help from the government if im only getting MA. Do i still have to declare im working as work arent paying me SMP? am really confused on this issue really dont want to give up my job want something to go back to after 9 months maternity.

You might want to go back to work for a rest... Smile seriously, if you can possibly avoid it, do so. I don't think you'd regret it. Don't know about entitlements, but there's a good family tax credit calculator (search on moneysavingexpert.com for it). FTC is what enables us to have me stay at home f/t atm. Just let yourself slow down a bit! Look after yourself. Enjoy the time that the girls are at nursery. You're about to move house. Surely that's enough to be getting on with??!

Good luck.
