Hi all

Dont know if anyone can help me.

My husband left the Navy in November but has just been laid off from his HGV job.

He remembers the Government advertising the fact that they will pay the tuition fee for ex-armed forces members to retrain as teachers.....does anyone know the website link to this at all, or remember anything about it????

TIA

www.tda.gov.uk/recruit

Check this out. Also am a teacher myself and know that the indy sector don't always require training first. My dh switched from law to teaching 5 years ago - best move ever - without training.May be worth looking in the TES jobs section...

The Troops to Teachers progrAmme hasn't been launched in the UK yet. Although the Gov said they supported the idea in a recent White Paper. Not sure when they will actually set the wheels in motion.

You could ask about it on the TES forums too.
