Stressed by lack of communication

I start my new PT job tomorrow. I emailed the office manager several times (carefully spacing several days between emails so as not to seem hassling, to ask for details of where I had to be when, as the work involves travelling out to other companies sometimes. No reply. So I assumed I should be at Head Office at 9 am. Just found out by chance from another employee that I'm due in Reading and they don't know what time. Office manager is off work for a couple of days and not filled in the diary.

This company trains others in communication. The head of personnel also never ever returns emails despite my being asked by boss to contact her to sort out contracts and salary etc.

I want the job but they're driving me nuts and I've not even started yet. How do I point out the lack of communication without coming across as a mardy mare before I've been there a day?

I'd keep schtum myself. Turn up at Reading from 9 and take it from there. Settle in and when you have a review meeting. Maybe in 3 months time, then bring it up then. If you bring it up now, the fact you are peeved off may mean you don't put it across as well as you would if you have time to calm down. Have to say though they sounds flaky.

Yes, my guess is that I should turn up at 9 am in Reading. Though I bet the meeting doesn't start until 2pm and it's out in a business park miles from anywhere....

Good advice to not grumble but bl*dy hll!!! It's now 4.15 the day before I start and no one has bothered to tell me where to be and when. I found out a snippet of info by accident. I'm trying hard to think they're any good but I'm glad I have other work on with other clients!
