As in if you were a care assistant and want to do similar do you have that option?
Or of you were a care assistant & now want to work in a shop?
Or do you just have to apply for everything that fits your qualifications?

I think that you can restrict your search to jobs which fit your qualifications and experience, certainly in the first 3 months, providing you are not in a ridiculously narrow niche. You are expected to widen your search after that. The important thing is that you are actively searching and applying. Your adviser will let you know if what you are doing is not acceptable.
