Hi,
this is the first message i have posted (despite spending the last few months on here daily), so would really appreaciate any advice.
I have a 4.10 yr old ds and an 11 wk old dd. I was studying on my social work degree and very close to completing it when i found out i was pregnant with dd. Whilst in my last year of study i did a pt support worker job which at present i am on mat leave from but will not return to, i would need a ft qualified role, as i would need to be earning more money to start paying bk debt to family ( Uni loans) and enable us to move as we live in a two bed atm.
anyway.. my question is as i did not work as a qualified social worker before going on mat leave should i aim to find a job and return to work wen dd is 6 mo old or should i take full 9mo mat leave (which i could just about afford to)? the reason i ask is that i am worried that if i wait till 9mo i would be looking for work when all the other fresh faced just out of uni, all up to date, social work grads would be? Will potential employees look less favourably on me due to 9 mo career break straight after graduating/
Please help with advice if you can.
