myself and a few other mums who have children at the same school are considering setting up a childcare 'pool' or cooperative. This would cover the school holidays, perhaps the working week and maybe even babysitting! We imagine that each mum states when she can care for her own and others children and how many she is willing to take. This will be logged and organised with contingencies for ill health and other emergancies. This is based on all being friends and the care being playdates rather than formal childcare. Each mum would earn 'credits' to redeem for childcare. Anyone else tried anything similar or have any thoughts on what we are trying to do? Thanks
