Possible pregnant and applying for jobs- help please!

I have been looking for part time teaching work. I have applied for a few but no luck so far. So we decided that we would also TTC, thinking it could take a while. A really good job has cropped up which I will apply for BUT I may be pregnant.
So, if I am, do I say about it at interview and if so how; or if not, how would I say about it afterwards?
Also, what maternity entitlement would I be allowed?

The person my bosses hired to cover me whilst I was on mat leave was already pregnant when she had the interview but did not mention it as she was not yet 12 weeks - I guess I would be the same - I wouldn't offer the information and they certainly cannot treat you any different.

There is a great website for working out what you would be entitled to - you just need to answer a few questions about dates you worked etc.

I got my current job after interview at 8.5 months pregnant - obviously I couldn't hide it but they recruited me and just waited 6 months for me to start.

Personally I would want to mention it. If they are the sort of employers who would not recruit you because you're pregnant then they're not worth working for IMO.

I know that's easier said than done though if you really need a job move at the moment. Pehaps you could keep quiet & see if they offer you the job - you might have had the pregnancy confirmed by the time you get an offer in writing & you could tell them then - just say you weren't sure before.

Witchycat - I agree with you about an employer not being worth working for if they dont recruit you because you are pregnant - I think I was thinking more that I wouldn't want to tell people that knew me that I was pregnant before 12 weeks let alone a possible future boss.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. I didn't tell anyone (apart from best mates) until 12 weeks either.

I think I might be tempted to wait until I got an offer in writing and then decide.

Good luck with the interview and fingers crossed for you with the pregnancy!
