Could you tell me how they look after the residents feet?

They usually have a person (mind has gone blank as to the name of them- all I can think is pediatrictrican, and that isn't right!) who comes in regulary to sort out the feet of the people who need it.

Or do you mean on a dy to day basis?

I have trained in manicure/pedicure and was thinking of trying to find work in care homes looking after the residents feet. Just routine stuff nail cutting etc. not dealing with problems, I just wondered if they would have a podiatrists who came in once a week or so to see everybody, although a podiatrists might be a bit over qualified for nail cutting and painting.

Butterpieify where have you gone?

Hiya, sorry, I wandered off :)

Yes, it was a podiatrist, they came in to most people, as far as I know they cut nails and dealt with any problems, and I know that we weren't allowed to do nything (not even paint) the toenils of the residents who had this service, even if we were doing their nails for them. Might be different if you were trained, or in maybe sheltered accomadation?

However, there is often a regular hairdresser, so manicures could be a goer... I would say to try the more expensive homes though, as sadly the cheaper ones often only provide the very least they can and often the residents have no relatives or money to get any extras :(
