Royal Wedding Bank Holiday

I work a 4 day week, Mon - Thursday and have been told I won't get an extra Bank Holiday day for the wedding. It seems unfair but I'm not sure how far to push it in this economic climate.

Also I'm the only one affected in our small office as all the others work Friday anyway.

Any views/suggestions welcome.......

Not illegal lolo, no. As long as you are getting the statutory minimum holiday entitlement it doesn't matter whether that's on bank holidays or not.

Well, I went into work and asked why only some people were getting the day off as an extra holiday.

At first it was "we get enough leave here without giving the extra day, you are making a fuss about this" but I persisted and now we all have the extra day pro rata to days worked.

The effort involved in getting fair treatment has annoyed me though.
