I have to show examples of how i contribute in my role to "quality"
the context is health care.
I cant find a definition that i can relate to and that suggests to me what i do to improve quality.

Fecking managers and their obsession with cutting front line staff, i am filling this in to fight for my job Sad

I guess it means what you are going to do/already do to improve the quality of the care given?

so I dunno, I guess it might be things like taking the time to note a patient's name so that you can address them personally, taking a few minutes to chat with them, um... making sure you work efficiently so that you can give patients the best possible care?

am making this up as I go along btw, without knowing too much about the role you do

getting to know other members of your team so that you have good working relations?

Make sure that service users are completely satisfied with the service they are given.

i have no patient contact, i am a trainer based on an ICU & HDU.

I train and educate so that the nurses can deliver quality educated care.....
Thing is, i do things all day everyday to ensure we deliver quality...but cant think straight, so anxious about losing my job Sad

ahh ok.

do you have other colleagues you can talk to to go through this?

otherwise perhaps sit down and make a vague list of things you do each day. every time there is something you do that ensures/improves quality then note it down?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 14/12/2010 18:42

Sounds like you need something in there about how quality means the team never assuming that they know it all, but needing continuous professional development to make sure their skills are completely up to date and to keep on top of their game. That's where you come in.

Quality is about continuous improvement and always finding ways of going a little further and a little better.

Any use?

delivery is stoooopid corporate speak for getting results

hate the word with a passion

it's basically how do you contribute to getting the overall job of the ICU done - i.e. you make sure the staff are as efficient and professional as possible, which saves time and lives and generally makes everyone able to do their job.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 14/12/2010 18:50

(unless you work in a maternity ward, in which case delivery means something else entirely! Grin)

brokeoven · 14/12/2010 18:56

ahhh that makes sense..i can write something for that.

Its so hard when the pressure is on.
