Does anyone out there working part-time feel like you are totally undervalued as a member of staff, talked down to most of the time, given all the rubbish jobs to do like they save them up for you and generally not appreciated and seen as a burden? Or is it just me?????

I work 20 hours per week and it is a case of oh Vic will do it. I have to make tea for male chauvanist directors and make trips to the post office to but stamps and the florist to buy flowers and Tesco to get cakes etc etc... Needless to say looking for summat else

There were a couple of threads on here recently about a similar issue. I do think that in most cases if you are working part time you are a little bit of a second class citizen.

Unless you are lucky, like with all things.

Your example seems pretty bad though...making the tea? Pah, tell them to make their own!

Mspontipine · 02/12/2010 21:33

I'd be happy to make tea and go to the post office Xmas Grin

Getting a bit desperate now Xmas Sad

I get asked to answer their phones and divert calls, and we have a bloody secretary!! Currently working on a plan to jack it all in!!

It appears to be a common theme with us part timers I think. Thanks for your replies. I have deceided to look for something else after Christmas, I know its tough out there but can't face it for another two years until DS goes to school. xxx
