So if you were asked to give a 5 minute presentation at interview does it always have to mean Powerpoint style?

Not necessarily. What's the job and what's the industry?

moccachoccachino · 25/11/2010 21:16

Job is cultural sector/heritage

I only ask becasue in the past if I've been asked to give presentations for interview they have been longer.

Yes, 5 minutes is very short. I probably wouldn't bother with PP, I could easily just talk for 5 minutes and give some handouts or something.

Thanks, that what I was thinking too.

A rule people often use for PowerPoint is 2 minutes per slide, so for 5 minutes I would say its not worth the hassle as you can only fit in 2 or 3 slides. Like flowery said, talk plus perhaps handouts.

why don't you ask? (what's expected/what facilities they will have for you)

if you're doing handouts (which you should - gives them an opportunity to see your written presentation and helps them remember you) you may as well knock up a couple of slides if you're comfortable in ppt.
