umbrella companies and childcare vouchers

Hi there,

Any contractors out there using umbrella companies that offer childcare vouchers?

Do they exist or does it affect other tax breaks?

Any other tips for a mum returning to contracting (IT - ish) after 3 years out.

Thanks

L

Yes. Run your own Ltd. Much more tax efficient than umbrellas. Not much paperwork and can give yourself child care vouchers as well.

Only when it is raining.

Seeyoukay - Thanks - you are confirming what I know I should do but am afraid to do!

I am thinking about this but afraid of what to do if contracting doesn't work out (2nd recession looming?) or I decide to go permanent in the future.

Also for own ltd - any tips on key points to consider for an accountant?

Lucinda Grin

Thanks
