We relocated with DP job from a city to a more rural area a few months ago. In the city, I managed to work on a series of short term part time well paid contracts (mainly for ex employers) which I fitted in around family demands. Main motivation in working is to earn a bit of cash/ keep myself employable in case some disaster befalls DP/ use my skills - I really enjoy my job (finance/ admin)
Have researched local jobs scene & the type of part time jobs that suit me around here are at lower level/ pay than what I've done previously. I don't mind this at all as downsizing career was on cards as part of relocation and the working hours etc are a big factor for me.
So questions are:
a) How to present CV so don't get written off as over qualified and likely to get bored/ leave when something better comes along.
b) How to explain patchy work history for last 6 years without going on too much about children and sounding as if I'm more interested in family than job. My impression from talking to local mums is that people move jobs a lot less here and am worried that all my chopping and changing will be a minus point.
I want employers to realise that the part time element is a big factor to me, that I'm not a "fly by night" but that I will work hard, stick with it and do a good job.
