Really short job interview - is this a bad sign?!

I just had an interview, it only lasted 30 minutes! I was asked a lot of questions and they finished by telling me how much money they will pay and that they would give me an answer by the end of today, I really want the job as it is term time only but feel really disappointed, do you think a short interview is a bad sign?

that is normal length here.
often even shorter.

What's the job for? If they've got 10 people to see for 5 posts then they can't spend longer than 30 mins as that's 5 hours they'll spend interviewing.

i would sauy either reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly good (jobs yours) or reaaaaaaaalllllllllly bad (they had someone else already lined up) Smile. You don't have long to wait though - good luck.

Well I had a far shorter interview last week, which ended with them talking about pay and terms of employment. They rang me by the end of the day and I didn't get the job. But as I say it was far shorter than half an hour.

ignore my rubbish typing - trying to do 2 things at once

domesticsluttery · 02/11/2010 12:09

I think with mine they had someone else already lined up. Especially as there was nobody interviewed before or after me as far as I could see.

bigchris · 02/11/2010 12:09

Mine have always been about half an hour

I had an interview last Thursday for they length of time. Still waiting on the phone call either way. so no much help!

Eliza70 · 02/11/2010 15:38

It could be ok. I am going for an interview soon and can see they have allocated 40 minutes for it so as someone else says they might be seeing lots of people.

Also depends on the job, Governor of the Bank of England - prob a bad sign, middling admin type job - good sign?!?!?!

GetOrfMoiLand · 02/11/2010 15:40

Depends on the type of job.

Senior level/director job - you will have several interviews, and they will last quite a long time.

Admin/manual job - 15-30 mins norm.
