I am an Avon rep. I do it for friends and family because I enjoy it (I do it as a hobby in addition to my main job). You pay £15 to start up which is split over your first 2 campaigns. Your first set of books is free (or it could be your first 2 sets of books) but you have to pay for them after that, which reduces your earnings.

I did try doing "territory" i.e. delivering brochures to houses in a given area but I found that there was very little demand in the area I live in and it wasn't worth the hard work.

Although there is a lot of hype about the Avon lady who is now a millionaire, I don't find that you earn a great deal from it - I had over £200 worth of orders last month and earned £62 (after deducting cost of brochures, bags, etc). I suppose if I worked harder I could earn more though.

The thing I like most about being a rep is getting discounted products and freebies.

I used to be a rep, but have no self control and always ended up spending more than I earnt on all the discounted goods!

Having said that I'd be tempted to go back if my neighbour wasn't a rep.

You'll earn a lot in the run up to Xmas but expect to have brochures where you might only break even.

I know I wouldnt make much from it as I wouldnt have many customers!!

I am a bit worried as I have heard people say when they have gone to do their orders, stuff was out of stock so that didnt then take them to the amount where you earn commission?

Also lots of problems when the orders came

Do you have to pay postage?

do you get anything when you start up, apart from 2 books?

thnks

No you don't get anything when you join apart from your free books! You don't have to pay postage because a courier delivers your orders and you can leave any returns for the courier to take when he brings your next delivery.

You only start earning commission if you order at least £78 worth of stuff and I have found that if you order on the last day, a lot of the stuff is out of stock. I haven't found problems with my orders though - occasionally there is the odd thing wrong but its not a regular problem.

thanks

How many books do you get ?

A pack of 5 brochures costs £3.15 but the more you buy the less you pay. You can't buy less than 5 books.

Thank you
