When am I actually redundant?

I recieved a letter in August saying I was being made redundant effective without notice. I was due to return from maternity leave at the start of October. I am still trying to negotiate my redundancy package with work. Am I actually redundant now or am I still employed? Do I get a formal letter saying I am no longer employed?

From the sounds of it you were made redundant at the date of the letter as it said without notice.

Did they give you PILON (Pay In Lieu of Notice)?

Yes, they said they would pay PILON but we are still discussing the rest of the redundancy package.

Then I'd say your no longer employed based on the letters date.

You say your still discussing the rest of the package? What are you discussing and is your redundancy outlined in your contract?

Do you feel you have a reason for it being increased? Was this voluntary redundancy?
