Long story short...I have a product to sell but no money for a website or designer...I am also seriously techno phobe...BUT.... my new business simply won't work well unless folk can buy online...I feel so depressed about it all.

I KNOW it will sell...I also know I can do a lot of the promotion and PR myself.

Can anyone advise me at all? I only need about three or four pages...some images and the text which I will write myself...oh...and of course a shopping cart!

If you want people to be able to pay on line and you don't have any track record then neither the blod nor the shopping cart is important, the difficult bit is going to be processing payments.

You have a couple of options:

  1. An all-in-one solution like Shopify
  1. A shopping cart service like Google Checkout or Paypal Merchant Services, both of which have their own shopping carts and will integrate well with a list of items on your blog - they will provide code for 'Buy Now' or 'Add to Cart' buttons you can put on your blog.

Have a look at these and see what you think.

How about bigcartel.com/, depending on what the product is?

Magento is an e-commerce system that has a blog add-on. There's also Joomla, which is a 'content management system' that features blog & ecommerce add-ons.

Or you can integrate e-commerce (e.g. Paypal payment links) into Wordpress blogs fairly easily.

All of these systems are free/open source, so you'd just need your domain name and hosting.

Mr Site is pretty good, and includes a paypal cart. I'm a technophobe, but managed to use it quite easily.
