Dumb Q: do you count childcare as an expense?

Hiya

Need to report my new business to Child Tax Credits and Carer's Allowance but not sure what to quantify my current income. Right now I am just about breaking even after childcare costs. (NB those childcare costs are not for the child that qualifies me for CA, that one is at school.)

It's not a business expense if that's what you mean. Your income is before childcare costs.
