can I choose to go back part time?

I worked full time for the NHS and have opted to take 52 weeks mat leave on the birth of my DS.

Can I choose to go back part time and will this affect my mat leave pay and will I have to pay any back if I choose to drop two days?

No, you can't choose to go back part time. You can ask; the NHS will have a proper flexible working procedure you should follow, but they can say no as long as they can justify the decision with business reasons.

Your maternity pay will be based on the hours you work before your maternity leave, not after, although you should check the NHS maternity policy for their exact rules around mat pay.
