Home Start High Peak are looking for volunteers for a new course of preparation starting in January 2011.
If you are a parent, grandparent or carer and feel you could spare a few hours a week to help other parents, we would love to hear from you.
As a Home Start volunteer you would provide friendship and support for families that are finding it difficult to cope for all kinds or reasons. Usually you will visit the same family each week and how you help really depends on the families needs. Very often it is just a listening ear that is needed. Other times it can be more practical help, such as budgeting or meal planning.
Full training is provided and the only qualification we ask for is parenting experience. Home Start is also great experience for people who are considering working children and families or in family support.
