annoyingly bad interview process

I know, I'm feeling bitter because I didn't get a job I wanted yesterday. I'm not going to do anything about it, but annoyed that there was no job description or person specification available and no information of that sort provided when I asked for it. Interviews were ridiculously short (4 questions, very general), giving little opportunity to show knowledge etc. They rang later in the day with the reject call, blathering on about how close it was etc etc. I asked why I didn't get selected (I sound really pushy, don't I?) and she mumbled about another candidate fitting their requirements. What requirements?? They didn't have any!
As I said, just bitter but also feel that there wasn't a level playing field (and annoyed because I have to start looking for a non-existant job all over again!).

Well no reason to think there wasn't a level playing field as presumably the other candidate didn't have any information either, however it sounds like a distinct waste of your time.

Just say to yourself that you wouldn't want to work for a company with such an unprofessional and unbusinesslike approach to recruiting staff.

Thanks. Forgot to add that the other three candidates all knew the selection panel!!

They sound absolutely crap and probably would have been crap employers if you had got the job.

Something bigger and better will come along shortly...

I agree with Speckledeggy. Hope you find something smashing soon.Smile

Best wishes for your search. They sound like a very unprofessional outfit.
