Not yet - though planning to do so post next maternity leave. The friends I know who have downsized careers are all much happier for it however... I have a friend who was a lawyer (as am I) and found it really stressful and halved her salary to teach law, and is much more relaxed and happy with her life as a result. Another friend used to work in the city and is now a teacher - likewise, much happier (albeit skint).

I'm about to return to work after maternity leave after having DS2 - i get to decide whether to go for an internal job with less stress, predictable hours etc etc or stay with high stress but exciting client work. Ill probably go for tsay first option although I'd love to stick with the latter. I say this because in making the decision I've canvassed opinion from lots of friends who have jumped the stress ship and they all say it was worth it. Personally i get angry that the choice has to be made but regardless, those who have made the switch seem to be glad they did. Good luck.
