Am I being unreasonable?

Hello

Yet another thread asking more advice regarding my very ongoing redundancy. I really do think it is going to send me utterly mad!

I was informed in June that my post was being deleted as of 1st October. However, redundancy letter was issued in August giving 3 months notice so because it was not issued in time they have to pay me until November.

I was on maternity leave but returned two weeks ago and have been on annual leave to take me up until today.

Employer thinks it is reasonable for me to use up the rest of my annual leave and then they will give me a few days special leave paid (so I don't have to return to a job that no longer exists).

Am I being unreasonable in telling them that I shouldn't have to use my annual leave as it was their fault the redundancy letter was not sent out on time?

Trying to draft a response but end up sounding like I am being unreasonable so wanted to check here first.

TIA

YABU I'm afraid. Perfectly reasonable and normal for an employer to require an employee to use up their annual leave during their notice period.

Thank you flowery. I won't send an e-mail back telling them they are being unreasonable even if I think they are a little bit. :o
