Return to work nerves

I am nervous about my return to work.

When I went back to work after ds I was driven from the company by the husband and wife team who owned it.

They promoted my (male) deputy had been over me taking half my team with him - they had created a new position to get around employment law. I was undermined and my decisions questioned in front of my staff, and the wife made insulting comments about my changed shape and size in the staffroom. This was despite working for them for 6 years and my team winning national awards in their field.

It had a good ending in that I got a better position elsewhere - in both conditions and pay, but it knocked my confidence for quite some time.

5 years on and I am about to return to work after my 2nd. I am nervous as hell.

I'm really nervous too. It's really positive that you have abetter position somewhere else though, it won't happen again, it sounds awful for you. When I went back after DC1 my salary magically reduced and it took nearly a year to get it back to where it was when I started at my firm, and I was harrassed by a colleague. I'm dreading it this time.. keep plotting ways to get out of going back Grin
