Childcare vouchers for relatives?

Hi..
I am going back to full-time work due to a change in circumstances but will really struggle for child-care. My Mum is prepared to come oome over to help me each afternoon for nothing bless her, but the cost of her driving is quite substantial and it puts a lot of miles on her car. Would it be possible to get her registered as a child carer to be able to claim the childcare vouchers? How would that work as well - do I pay my mum with the vouchers? What does she do with them. Sorry for the dumb qustions..

You do realise that childcare vouchers are salary sacrifice don't you - so what you save is the tax, not the cost of paying her?

She will need to get registered with OFSTED I think. My nanny did. YOu might be better off posting this on one of the childcare boards as you will probably get a more specialist audience.
