Where is the best place to look for part timr work? Have any of you had luck by applying for F/T jobs and then asking for P/T in which case were you upfront covering letter? Did any of you have any luck by just sending your CV? I have been a SAHM for 2.5 years. I don't want to go back to my previous sector and am not in a rush so ahve time to look for the right job.

County council and borough council wbesites, Local paper, employment agencies, job centre website. Speculative applications aren't really worth it now tbh, you usually have ot complete a specific form for a specific role. If you know what you want to do maybe ask to meet someone and discuss routes to get in, perhaps volunteering to add to your cv.

always be up front about wanting part time work, at application stage!

Good luck!

Have you thought of doing some direct sales? I do Usborne and love it :) My website is www.bookwormery.co.uk if you want to have a look, or just ask me. I have a fast track help scheme if you want to get promoted quickly too- I was promoted in two months and I have someone in my team who I am helping atm who looks like she will do the same :)

Thanks but I would hate selling of any kind.
I am going to get my CV out for a polish.

I am moving house shortly so had a look on NHS jobs (where vast majority of NHS orgs advertise). There was only one part time management job advertised for the whole country! Slight thread hijack, but related, has anyone applied for a job advertised as fulltime and got it on a parttime basis? If so, how?

Sorry just re-read OP and realised she asked the same question. Blush

If you are looking to work part time and can volunteer 16 hours a month of your time, becoming a Special Constable might prove an ideal solution. It is a great option for mums who are looking for part time work that is both exciting and allows you to give back to your local community. You can learn new skills, undertake the challenge of active police work and make new friends. I know that Hertfordshire Constabulary are currently recruiting and other forces maybe too. If you live in the Hertfordshire area then click on the link below.

How about community care or even working in a care home. The pay is next to nothing but most places work around the kids and it is one of the most rewarding jobs ever!
