Compressed hrs- ask for what you want

When I asked for flexible working after my first m in dec 06 I was told I had to take 20% pay cut to work 4 days.so I did. Since then I have shlepped the length and breadth of the country in my job for meetings in various corporate offices leaving early 0630 and getting home late many times. Never once did my manager suggest CH but I assumed it was just not done. How wrong was I. I've discovered several other employees work compressed hours.yes I know the onus was probably on me to make the application but I innocently thought it was a non starter so didn't bother. To top it all my manager, who has now left the company, has now suggested I ask for compressed hrs when I go back after ml for dd ends...he could have suggested it before when he knew I was working so many hrs for 20% less than some others. But what can I do in retrospect to recoup lost moniesAngry. After second ml ends I'm definitely asking for compressed hrs 3 days a week

Rant over..just make sure you ask for what you want as many times as you can

Sorry to hear that Chippychop. Not quite sure what could be done in retrospect, if anything??

Maybe if you have a good HR department they would support you in going back full time but compressing your hours in recognition of the hours you are already putting in??

Thanks for the reminder to ask for what you want... :)
