Please help me, I am so worried about telling my work I am pregnant again. I am due back begining of Jan and baby is due begining of March! Am I entitled to normal maternity pay again and do you know if I have to be back working for 12 weeks to be entitled to OMP again. I think I am going to let my work know asap so that I am being as fair to them as poss, I am now 15 weeks preg. Thank you

SMP is calculated based on your earnings for an 8 week period between weeks 17 and 25 of your pregnancy. Unless you go back in a couple of weeks you will still be on maternity leave at that point, but if you are still getting SMP that should be enough. Have a read here about how much you need to be earning to qualify and other rules.

In terms of OMP your employer sets the rules for that so you would need to ask them I'm afraid, or check the maternity policy where you work.

Thank you for your help. The last 3 months I will be getting no pay at all, my maternity pay finishes altogether begining of October. Would that mean that when they calculate my earnings from week 17 and 25 I will hardly get anything on SMP because much of that time im on unpaid leave?

It about the average, so you need to earn an average of I think £97 a week (check the link) to qualify.

If you haven't done your Keeping in Touch days yet, you could do that - working for 10 days during that period getting paid your normal salary would up your average. Scroll down to Keeping In Touch

Im so sorry to keep asking, Ive been going through the link which is v helpful. Im trying to get my head round it, am I right in thinking if I go back to work when Im 24 weeks pregnant until the baby is due I will be entitled to SMP. I would of then been back at work 15 weeks before the baby is due. I do earn over £97 a week. Thanks again, I really appreciate it

You are still employed the whole time, so it's purely on your earnings during the qualifying period. Your average earnings during the 8 week period between weeks 17 and 25 need to be more than £97.
