Working as a doula: flexible work?

Hi, I put this thread in 'going back to work' but had no luck with responses so thought I'd post here, too.

I have a 2 year old DS and have recently completed a doula training. I'm in the process of starting to work as a doula (mostly concentrating on postnatal work) & would like to ask other doulas out there
a) how flexible you find the work (taking into account young children)
b) how much money you manage to make as a beginner (on average; I'm in London)
c) do you find with postnatal work that it's mostly shifts of 3-4 hours at a time?
d) Is it easy to 'fit in' 2 or more families for postnatal work at the same time?
e) as for birth work: how did you get over the anxiety with that difficult 1st birth?

Many thanks in advance, any thoughts or general advice welcome!
