I need a job - we're not bringing in enough money, and I could do with being out of the house more. But, we have big childcare problems. We home educate, and DH works long hours - he's out of the house 7-7 M, W, T, F, S and every 3rd Sunday he's out of the house 10-5. I don't have family close enough by to pop in for an hour or so.

I am at the end of my imagination now!

How many children and what ages?

LackingInspiration · 25/08/2010 10:04

Good point! 4.

Nearly 2; 3.5; 5.5 and 7.

The only thing I can suggest would be night work in a supermarket but you'd never cope with looking after 4 kids in the day and working at night. Surely you are currently working far more already than someone who works outside the home except without the dosh. SOrry couldnt help more.

Grin and Sad

So annoying! I can't work nights, I won't survive.

I'm going to apply for a team leader in training job at Sainsbos, I think, but it'll mean needing an hour of child care 3 days a week in the evening; Sundays too, but I think I can get PIL to have the girls on DH's Sundays in. Won't give us much free time to ourselves as a family, though, but could try it and see if it works.

not ideal but with your experience - baby sitting other children at their homes - you can get up to £8-£10 an hour - 2 nights a week may soon mount up

Good idea, goingbacktowork, but I really am not good with other people's children! I have a friend who babysits with an agency, and she finds it hard to get work Sad

really? Are you in the sticks somewhere - there always seem to be shortage of babysitters here.

You only have to keep the kids safe - I am sure you would be fine.
