I am supposed to be starting a new job soon, but the pre employment checks etc are dragging on and on.

If I haven't started by 3rd Sept then I apparently won't get paid until the end of the following month. Is this normal ???

I will be coming off benefits, and so that is a hell of a long time to go without getting paid.

Some companies have monthly BACs runs so if you aren't put on the system before the cutoff date for Sept then it wouldn't run again until the same date in Oct. The payment date can be anytime later in the month.

Ok, thanks. So in Oct, would I get paid for Oct and Sept ??

Feel stressed already and i've not started yet lol.

You could try asking your company for an advance on your salary though. I started work 2a week before the payroll date, and they offered to pay an advance on the following month's wages or to pay all the wages together at the end of the following month. You're right, two months is a very long time to wait.
