Hi i received a text message from my manager today and was looking to see if anyone can give me some advice on this I have recently returned from maternity leave.

here is the msg
To all staff the cleanliness of the salons have been poor the last few weeks and uniforms have not been worn, pink and white for * salon and red and white for and salons. All staff are on a two week warning and there will be clients comimg in to check uniforms, presentation, salon cleanliness and will be reporting back to us, there are a few good members off staffthat are good at what they do and are fed up picking up after people. Over the 2 weeks people will be asked not to return back to work if anythinh mentioned above does not improve 100% if anyone would like to leave now or discussanything let me know as this is a very serious situation that needs to be fixed.

I would think he needs to put that warning in writing rather than sending it by text!

Text messages as well as e-mails can be considered the same as "in writing". Well that is what the case law suggests.

Is this to your personal mobile out of hours?

Why is the boss not saying this in person?

L8UR8LOLLY · 19/08/2010 10:19

Yes it was sent out of work hours and to my own personal mobile
