job seekers allowance??????????

Hi! ive just signed on for job seekers allowance for the first time ever! but am having second thoughts as to wether i should go to work or notConfused! where do i stand if i decide i want to stay at home? do i have to repay the money? At the moment i am still activley seeking but nothing out there which is suitable or enough money to cover chilcare, petrol etc! Shit!!!!!!!!! what shall i do?

No, you won't have to pay anything back. However, if you change your mind and don't want to work (or are unavailable / not actively looking for a job) you should terminate your claim.

Why don't you ask one of the advisers to do an in work calculation for you so you can work out if you would get any help with childcare costs etc.

Remember you don't have to be available for full time work if you have caring responsibilities.

thanks for your replys! thought about it overnight, i am going to keep looking for now and see if theres anything out there for me! if not will terminate JSA.
