Telephone Interview - I need advice!

I am going for a new job and have a telephone interview booked for tomorrow.

I've no idea what to expect.

Can anyone shed some light.

It is for work in the insurance industry.

Thank you.

I've never had a telephone interview, but if I did I'd probably sit infront on my computer with their web site displayed (so I can easily access info about them if needed). Would also have my CV, a pen & paper handy. I'd then treat it like any other interview (ie prepare a couple of questions to ask them / research their company). Good luck!

I agree with echops and would add that it's important to stay calm and think before you speak - is the role telephone based? If so, make sure you speak clearly.

Hope it goes well (if you haven't already had it)!

Obviously lots of active listening, reflecting what they say, nice calm voice.

What sector of insurance ? DH has done motor and household call centre claims in the past, and now does major property.

If it's call centre, they may test how you respond to shouty people
