Job Seekers while setting up new biz

Hi everyone

I need some advice please. I am in the process of setting up a new biz (shop) - was hoping to be up and running now, but heck these things always take longer than you think don't they? It's looking like Sept / Oct opening date now unfortunately.

I've been concentrating on this full-time (research, negotiating, business plan etc) since late May and so will effectively not have earned anything for around 4 months. Things are getting a bit tight, as you can imagine.

I'm thinking - should I claim Jobseekers for this period of time until we start taking money in? I've NEVER claimed anything on benefits before in my life, even when I've been out of work.

Thoughts please? Would I be allowed to claim? Do you think it's morally right? etc etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!
