How do I calculate someones daily rate?

My client usually pays his sessional staff a daily rate. Now one of them has been taken on under a contract of £18k p.a.
They work some week days, some weekends, take some days off as hols/sick etc.

I usually divide the annual by 260 to get a normal 5 day a week rate - but not sure if I can do the same in this case. The contract is only for 3 or 4 months - so its not as if it would even itself out over the year iykwim.

£8.65 per hour would be the equivelant wage for a full time employee on a 40 hour week

Or

£9.35 per hour for 37 hour week

but you would nned to pay extra shift for a saturday or sunday if you ever do this for other employees

holidays is 1.6 dyas per month earned

it is easier to give holidays in hours with a sh0rt contract

so if 1.6 x 4 months
