Ideas for toddler music groups?

I am thinking of starting a toddler music group from home. There used to be a lady in my area, whose group I attended, but she has moved, and I think I want to start a similar group.

I have a lot of ideas from going to her group, but I wonder if there is anyone out there who runs a similar group? If so, do you have any ideas or web resources I could tap into?

Thanks

Is it worth getting in touch with her if you can? Is she still doing a group in the new area or has she completely given up? Reason I ask is that our music group teacher gave it up and one of the group members bought the group from her IYSWIM so as far as us parents were concerned it continued as usual just with a different face.

Sorry I can't be any more help. Good luck with it, we love music group!

There are a couple of franchise music groups around here. One I went to when DS was a baby was the type you had to sign up for a half term - it wasn't that great but as I had paid and so felt obliged to go. The woman running it just didn't seem to have the spark. One of my friends went to a different branded group which was run by v enthusiastic woman (great singer too), so I really think it's the person running the group rather than whether they're doing Jo Jingles/Monkey Music or whatever.

If you are running a group in your own home you would need to inform your house insurers and also pay for public liability insurance. Morten Michel is a company that specialises in insurance for toddler groups and nurseries. It costs around £70 per year.
