I am looking to a apply for a Research Assistant post. I have no work related experience, but I do have a 2:1 in a related subject. I have never written a supporting statement before, as this will be the first time I have applied for a relevant job since graduating. I have searched on the net for some ideas, but can't find anything. The job is with the NHS through a University, if this helps? The closing date is the 21st July, so I dont have much time either. I would really appreciate some help, I would love the opportunity to get short-listed for this job, so want to give myself the best possible chance.

Have you done any relevant volunteer work? If not, try and make your personality as close to the job as possible (ie I am meticulous and organised or I am extremely sociable and gregarious).

If you google Supporting Statement lots do come up btw, you just need to adapt it.

Ok thanks, I'll have a look. When I had a look before, all that came up were UCAS personal statements. I did some volunteer work, but its not really relevant. I do have some relevant personal experience, its just how to word it- like all things of this nature (ie CVs, applications forms) I suppose...
