Not knitting but help needed

I can knit but am useless at sewing!
My Dad died recently and would like recommendations for anywhere I could go (eg people you have used on Etsy) to make some mementoes
Favourite silk ties could make some padded Xmas tree decorations
DD suggested cushions from his favourite shirt etc
