Square size

I have taught myself to crochet over summer and have been looking at different styles instead of just basic granny squares. My latest c2c square has come out at 6.5" so is this no good? Is it still useable? Or do I need to add a granny square around it to make it 12"?

Please don't tell me I have to redo it.

don't panic :) - the construction crew mange to sort all shapes and sizes when putting blankets together . It is more helpful to be a little small rather than a little large though - easier to coax !
