To Knotty and Pistey and all the wonderful mumsnetters who contributed their time, skills and donations to create the most beautiful memory blanket.
It arrived this morning.
It is a truly gorgeous creation and I will treasure it always.
The understanding and kindness I have received from the people on the bereavement board has got me through the worst year of my life.
As my son's first anniversary approaches I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
My thoughts are with all the others who have lost their loved ones and I hope you will all feel comforted by the love and support on mumsnet.

Thank you Oncewaswho.

It is very humbling to see how much care strangers have put into such a beautiful work of art for someone they have never met.

DS was a talented artist and he would have really appreciated it.

I'm not very good with words when someone has suffered a bereavement or other tragedy, but being part of WH makes me feel as though I can reach out in other ways Flowers

end I am glad - I know I try to do it as well as I can, and make each stitch for one of these something that has care and love in it .

What date is the anniversary? I'd like to remember him in some way then. I can remember how awful it was a year ago and since, too. I've thought of you often in the last year and hoped you were coping - it seems crazy to hope for more than that in the first year.

I can't believe it's nearly a year. Obviously a blanket is no substitute for your beloved boy but I'm glad it's bringing you some comfort.
