knitting pattern help

I seem to spend a lot of time as a passenger in a car, i think l could be productive with some knitting. However to avoid injury to the driver DH Grin l wondered if anyone had a hat pattern that could be adapted to a circular needle.

What sort of hat ? - there are lots on Ravelry , its free to join, lots of free patterns too
