You may have heard the dreadfully sad news that endofthelinefinally’s beautiful son has suddenly died. She describes him as kind, clever, good looking and talented, but troubled. Bless his heart. Life has been very cruel to him and them all. We send endofthelinefinally and her family our love and are so sorry. Thanks

We are so glad that she has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, we hope it may give whatever comfort it can. There will be love and memories crafted into every stitch. We hope it will be a real tribute to her wonderful son. Endoftheline’s thread is here if you would like to add a message. Thanks

So we are now asking for help once again Sad Thanks

We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) Thanks If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM us with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc, we can help you with all of it. Thank you doesn’t even come close.

Thanks

Endoftheline says..
My darling boy had a favourite island. His funeral flowers were bright and colourful sunflowers and blue shades to represent the sun and the sea.
They used orchids and palm leaves for a tropical feel. He loved the sun and the sea.
He was known to his friends as "superman" and they made cupcakes and superman badges for the wake.
He was a brilliant IT and finance expert.
I saved the beautiful butterflies from his flowers to put next to his photograph.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
Thank you so much

Knitting

Wow! Not only they are amazing but just how did you make them so quickly?
Well done!

KnittingPearl · 09/11/2016 11:03

Wolfie and Zing, many thanks. I had the yellow wool already, so not so quickly!

bookbook · 10/11/2016 08:35

My wool arrived yesterday - I have managed to get one knitted up already, just deciding on what to do on the next one :)

KnottyAndPistey · 10/11/2016 09:48

Whatsthatbrightlght · 10/11/2016 14:59

Wool has arrived today, thanks. I've also found some green from an earlier hug, would this be ok or is it too dark?

I have a brown that I used for the middle of a sunflower for ImpatientWino, but it's not the Drops one. It is the Sublime in Truffle (447). Would that be OK? Otherwise please could I have some of the other brown? Thank you :)

KnottyAndPistey · 11/11/2016 07:37

MrsHathaway · 11/11/2016 10:52

It's very hard and has come out very close indeed so don't be impressed yet if at all.

But lumme it's pretty.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 11/11/2016 23:45

Phew. Thank you KnottyandPistey :)

MrsHathaway I'm always tempted to try Tunisian but I'm too lazy to get a suitable hook Grin is it fun? It sounds like it might not be for me as I already knit and crochet too tightly...

MrsHathaway · 12/11/2016 08:37

It's kind of mesmerising. I was using a 6" hook so it was just long enough. Another time I'd do four 2.5" squares and join them.

As it is I've ringed it in dc because otherwise it would have been an utter pig to join to the next squares.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 13/11/2016 19:25

I hope this looks cupcake-ish enough.
(Have started Superman logo)

It does sound fun MrsH I will be interested to see the result :)

Lovely square Zing

Not a great photo - as I mentioned it's rather inclined to curl so I had to weigh it down Blush but here you go.

No fingers picture is the wrong side. Lovely texture to it.

Colours comically different but just different angles!

They are lovely MrsH

I'm shocked at lack of nail varnish though! 😉

MrsHathaway · 14/11/2016 11:59

Ah, you'd like my toes - shimmer teal.

Saw this and thought of you all. Sending love to EndOf and family.

Zing and MrsHathaway, they look wonderful.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 15/11/2016 16:35

Here's Superman logo.
I hope it's ok that logo is not in the centre
(very tempted to sort it but it's fiddly and I've been advised to leave it as it is).
