Yarn for Little Hugs or Billie Blankets?

Hello there...I have some lovely soft Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino (not DK, merino and acrylic and cashmere) and also some Sublime baby cashmere merino silk which would go very nicely together. Would these be ok to use for blankets for one of the Woolly Hug projects?

Our main requirements for yarns for blankets like the Little Hugs or Billie's Blankets is that they are soft, non scratchy, easily washed by machine and hard wearing.

We prefer Stylecraft Special DK for Billie's Blankets as it is so light, yet snuggly, and extremely practical as it is possible to tumble dry. That makes it such a good option for the Little Hugs too. They have busy lives these blankets!

I know the baby cash is machine washable, not sure about the other?

In the OPs for the projects and on the website pages we do give suggestions for yarn, and in the crafting guide. We do ask they when you send a blanket you let us know what you've used so we can let the family know how to wash and care for their blanket.

I just check labels to see if they tick the machinewashability box, and yes they are the same as the pure merino wool yarn used for Woolly hugs. 30 degree C wash. I wouldn't use these for woolly hug squares, as not worth the risk to mix the yarns, but was thinking if a blanket was just using the one type of yarn for a little hug it could be ok? Is 30 degree washing too impractical?

I'd include clear labels for family (or put in a card). Am realising that for some families that's important.

These are both very snuggly yarns, merino being so good for body heat regulation, and more hard wearing than acrylic ime. I wasn't sure if acrylic was preferred just because of the lower cost.

The cost certainly is part of it. X
