Blanket for MrsY and her family. Donors, crocheters and knitters, can you help us?

We have heard the desperately sad news that MrsY has lost her precious baby son Benedict and have offered to make a blanket for her and her family. She is very touched by everyone's kindness, and would love to receive one. Here is the original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

PM me and let me know how you can help, if you need matching up and I will be able to help you

For pictures from previous blankets, see here www.woollyhugs.com

As in the past, the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • or Rowan cashsoft DK

They are very similar and can be combined

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks
  • Cast on 33 stitches
  • 6" squares

The colours for this project
Blues, warm purples, greens, silver and cream

So sad that another blanket is needed Sad Sending love to MrsY and her family.

I think we need to ask MNHQ very nicely for a new smiley. A panic one! Haven't even got my needles, wool or idiots guide yet.

KnottyLocks · 10/05/2012 07:52

MOS, you'll have to make do with Shock until then Smile

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/05/2012 07:56

MOS, I find this one is very good Confused

any idea how long it normally takes to get things delivered by that place you recommended? (cumberpatch?) Ordered Tuesday

KnottyLocks · 10/05/2012 08:02

If the wool is in stock, should be today. Normally they are very quick. Have you had a confirmation via email?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/05/2012 08:02

With Cucumberpatch - if you order before Midday they will post the same day, so it should well arrive with you today!

yes, had a confirmation email but don't think it said when it would be delivered, just said if in stock would be processed shortly or something like that.

KnitterNotTwitter · 10/05/2012 10:51

Thank you, thank you, thank you for my woolly donor (initials HM in Newcastle!) The wool from Cucumberpatch arrived this morning - lovely purple and pale yellow. Will do my best to do your generosity justice :)

What a beautiful piece

MOSagain · 10/05/2012 13:37

truly lovely. Wool and needles not arrived yet so went to hobbycraft and bought some needles and wool to practice with. Hope it arrives soon so I can send balls on to my 'professional knitter'.

Umami · 10/05/2012 14:00

Yarn is here! Thanks LW!

Umami · 10/05/2012 14:00

In fact, if I find a ball of pink, my yarn is the colour of these flowers here ---> Thanks Grin

MOS - you will be a professional knitter before you know it! Here's a photo of me learning with Youtube Smile
