Have just caught up with this thread

Glad I didn't read it on Mother's Day, otherwise that would have set me off big time.

AllTheSevens · 22/03/2012 09:37

Hooray I have finished! Managed to get 4 squares out of my wool. Thanks again to my lovely wool donor Thanks

I just hope my squares look okay am worried about letting the team down.

Pistey did you get my PM? I am ready to post, just need the address.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 10:44

Sneaking on in a sneaky fashion to say AllTheSevens - I hadn't had a PM which is a worry, but I've sent you the address.

Thanks
RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 10:46

At unreliable PMs again

Wine
RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 10:50

Unreliable PM system that is!

If anyone else hasn't heard and has sent a PM today they could post on here? I've replied to all those I've received.

Gotta dash......

KnitterNotTwitter · 22/03/2012 10:56

Following on from the frogging ... if you just need to knit backwards a bit - rather than taking out your needles and actually frogging - then that is called tinking... because tink is knit spelled backwards.

trumpton · 22/03/2012 11:23

Oh. I always call it backing ,as in " I had to back 3 rows "

I like tinking better. Grin

Pancakeflipper · 22/03/2012 11:37

2 squares in the post 1st class. X

RedRosie · 22/03/2012 13:00

Can someone tell me how to knit backwards to correct mistakes?

When I make one, because I'm a perfectionist, I usually do the frogging thing and cry a bit and throw it accross the room and drink wine

:(

tribpot · 22/03/2012 13:26

A few good explanations here, Rosie. You can also thread a piece of yarn through the row before the mistake to make it easy to pull it back just to there, if that makes sense - I've forgotten what this is called but someone will know!

DutchOma · 22/03/2012 13:53

Is called a life line, but hardly worth it for a 6" square

trumpton · 22/03/2012 14:15

Oh I didn't know about a life line .< goes off to google it> It could be a useful thing to know.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 14:53

I can certainly do frogging. Grin

Tinking is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond me.

When I go wrong I usually have to just restart, unless of course I just send it to Knots with a safety pin holding it together

I'm hoping the PM problem this morning was a one off, but I guess we will probably never know.

I do have PMs now, I shall away to my inbox Thanks

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 15:10

All messages replied to, even more woolly wool is on the move!

Not like this obviously...

Grin

But gorgeoise squares with the lovely posties

Thanks
RedRosie · 22/03/2012 15:26

Thank you Tribpot. Recently I noticed a mistake far below in my knitting in a scarf I had made (my first ever finished knitted thing).

Instead of having a tantrum, I made a knitted flower thing and sewed it on top of the error.

Resourceful me. although it looked a bit silly

The life-line and tinking sound good. As does sending it to Knotty.

Pitsey n Knotty - 2 x not very competent squares will be posted on Monday. Possibly on Saturday.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/03/2012 15:33

I've had woolly tantrums before, and they ain't pretty! Confused

And well done you Rosie Grin

They will be gorgeoise Thanks

MinnieBar · 22/03/2012 16:04

I've been tinking today, on circular needles. Had to stop when my brain went on strike.

KnottyLocks · 22/03/2012 19:28

I'm glad you commented on the colour, I thought it was lovely but couldn't decide if it was a blue or a purple Confused

Pidjin, thanks for the information. Are you instructions easy? I have just started to revive my childhood crochet skills. I know the basic stitches.

woollyideas · 22/03/2012 19:51

I don't know! I told you it was a bit random...

Glad they arrived safely. x

KnottyLocks · 22/03/2012 19:53

Random.... oh yes Grin
