You might want to check before you start making remarks that could be seen as libel.

Can you point me to any court case assessing all of Uptons actions, including those in Australia in the last week? I bet you can’t

There’s a lot of gleeful spite on show, isn’t there? Not the first time I’ve seen this nastiness.

I agree. Sandie Peggie is a sexual assault survivor who simply asked an entitled man to leave a female changing room because she needed privacy to deal with a menstrual flood. The only reason we have any idea what she said (along with her colleagues) in her private WhatsApp is the unedifying and completely irrelevant to the issue smear campaign unleashed on her by Upton/Fife legal team.

Nick Wallis:

genderblog.net/peggie-loses-rcn-tribunal/?utm_source=noptin&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=New%20Post%20Notification%20-%20Peggie%20loses%20RCN%20tribunal

A considerable amount of time during the tribunal was taken up discussing whether the RCN had institutionally adopted gender identity ideology, and whether this had any bearing on its ethos, provisions and decision-making processes. Judge Sangster declined to make a finding in this regard, ruling: “The Tribunal concluded that it was not necessary, in order to determine the issues before it, to make a finding on whether the respondent [RCN], as an organisation, held the asserted institutional belief.”
Sandie Peggie’s spokesperson calls this “disappointing” given “it had been decided at a preliminary hearing on 22 September 2026 that this was a matter in dispute between the parties which needed to be determined.”

Good. Awful woman. Has no business being at the forefront of the movement.

It always amazes how vindictive the 'be kind' wing can be at times like this.

Free speech, privacy and dignity are for everyone, whether you like or agree with them or not.

The point is that person was seemingly shocked at someone casting assertions on someone's character for their views on sex and gender. So I'm glad you agree that is a thing here and nobody should be surprised if someone who isn't GC does the same.

Clearly you've never been on AIBU on a Saturday night, some really shitty people lurk in there waiting to pounce. And I call that out, too.

I just find it baffling that anyone would expend so much anger on a stranger. I mean, there are people that I really don't like in public life but who is it helping if I were to start screaming about them on SM? What will it change? Nothing, but putting those views out for discussion in public would make me a bitter, permanently angry, curdled person. So I don't.

Might this be mean that they have moved far enough away from what was thought originally to be important, to appeal?

I mostly agree with you. I just question whether you're on threads on here about say, an MP who isn't GC, when they're being slated.

Remember it took going back through years of WhatsApp gossip to find any off remarks made by SP. I wonder it Upton’s WhatsApps, or even alcoves, could bear such scrutiny?

Well quite. Or MintBird’s.

Except if the person is trans..

I was reading some deranged Reddit thread earlier, and every single man on it was wanging on about Sandie being a racist, not having the self awareness to think about whether their private colleague WhatsApp groups fantasising about killing “terfs” or “swerfs” or whatever could potentially land them in a spot of bother when they went to their manager and announced they wanted to bring a discrimination case on the grounds of “transphobia”.

That was my thought.

Is there another appeal on the cards (if Sandie P is up for it)?

Were these proven to exist as well? As in people involved in this case with Sandie were found to be in groups talking about killing TERFs/SWERFs?

Too early to say. The legal team is assessing.

I didn’t say they were 🙄 I was talking about the a Reddit people. No one else’s WhatsApp was looked at - arguably Upton’s social media definitely should have been. I bet it would be enlightening, just my personal speculation based on experience of TRAs.

That is an extremely good point. It just takes one person in your Whatsapp group to turn against you and it all comes tumbling out. Of course, what the beans spillers don't always realise is that their comments then become fair game too.

What does it matter what the reddit people do until they're involved in some sort of court cases related to their work?

Did anyone report that Upton had made those types of comments for their WhatsApp to also become part of this case?

That’s the point, many of them are always blustering about their legal rights. But they might find themselves in the same position as Sandie Peggie.

Everyone's comments are always fair game. That's why you're wise if you keep a distance with colleagues unless you are sure you can actually be friends. And even then it isn't guaranteed.

Ereshkigalangcleg · Yesterday 20:26

Im not going to discuss your straw men with you, so don’t bother. I made a comment akin to people being careful what they wish for. Hope that helps.

Yes obviously.

I've seen a few snippets of the judgment though that make me think this will go to an appeal.

Yes, if they do similar things to what she did and proof exists of inappropriate and offensive comments they have made.
