Yes, so it’s reasonable for men to stay out of female only spaces, because with most people, as you say, it’s obvious.

That's not what we are discussing here. This line of questioning was about whether I think all trans people "pass". The answer is no.

Okay. I think I have. Not here. But since I've been here and have found other places online where GC people discuss their opinions.

Sure. I’ll take that in my usual sceptic fashion, unless you have a screenshot. Not too difficult to get one I imagine.

You called someone a cunt. That is quite different to using the word cunt. Your exact words were "I say you're a 'vile weirdo cunt'.". That is a personal attack. If you make these often, you shouldn't be on the site.

@alcovecupboards 's words were 'she's a vile bigot'. That is a personal attack. As I said, don't dish it if you can't take it.

Of course. It's just my experience that the most violent, death-threat forms of abuse tend to be from accounts that belong to men, or to men who claim to be women. (The latter identified by adding 'suck my girldick' or somesuch. Thinking of Terfisaslur here). I don't generally come across women making death threats in anything like the same numbers.

Wishing harm is what I'd say is equal. I think women are too practical to make death threats. They know they aren't travelling hours just to go and hurt someone who might not even be in.

Oh I definitely have all over these boards.

but trans people aren't afforded the same right to assert the same "boundaries" are they?

Edited

Male born trans identifying people have male boundaries
Female born trans identifying people have female boundaries.

They are nothing special - despite their wishes

In actual fact, what you said was that hardly any of them do. Good to know. You can’t have it both ways, they don’t pass when it suits your argument and they do when it doesn’t. I agree with you that trans people hardly ever pass. First time ever, maybe.

StealthTroublemaker · Yesterday 21:44

Lexibletheflexible · Yesterday 21:15

I think with most people, you'll suspect.

I dont think you can always tell (ie some people pass) or it is always completely clear where some people started out. You can just see that they've been using some sort of hormone to alter their appearance. You won't know what anatomy they started with.

Why?

Because you seem very clear that you could tell who was female, but we have other posters saying no one know anyone’s sex because sex is a spectrum and wibbly wobbly. Are they lying?

And all the name calling and abuse directed at DU? But that's a different matter because DU is trans right?

It isnt a personal attaxk against a member here. And I think bigot is rather different to cunt.

I also think the context of the person in question making racist and Islamophobic comments gives some justification to seeming her a bigot. Just like it's kind of fair to call a man who says all women should be SAHMs a misogynist despite the fact a good deal of women would agree with him

Male and female boundaries? I've heard it all now.

I disagree with them for the most part, yes. But that's just my opinion. Maybe they can't tell when they look at someone how I believe I can.

I can’t take you seriously if you claim that the amount of “wishing harm” is equal between female GC feminists and angry thwarted men. It’s all a bit Fonzie and the shark. But of course you’re free to come out with whatever claims you want.

Well you did say 'death threats', so that is what I responded to.

Women 'wishing harm' in significant numbers🤔No, I'm still not seeing that in the places I visit. Lots of 'unladylike behaviour', sure... and I'm there for it!

I think for example, telling someone online that you will sexually assault them for their views is as bad as saying you wish they are sexually assaulted (by someone else) because they hold those views. It's just the latter person is more realistic about how their target is more likely to receive this harm. It's actually more sinister when you think if it like that.

It's a bit like you threatening to slap me now. It's not really going to hit home because we are speaking across a forum. If you said you hope my husband slaps me, it would be a bit more like "wow, you're wishing DV on me because we disagree!".

I could count them on the fingers of one hand in a decade of terfing it up on multiple social media platforms. As for what men do, receiving and witnessing threats of violence from these impotent MRA sad sacks is so common to the experience of being a gender critical feminist online that it’s practically wallpaper.

BettyBooper · Yesterday 21:51

Well, the Jungle Book images keep coming to my mind.

Usually, the TRAs remind me of the 'truuuussst in me' snake, Kaa, while spouting clearly illogical bollocks.

But here we also have Shere Khan drawling' 'she was a vile homophobic, raaacist don't you know', whilst filing his claws.

A nurse, whose employer okayed a man to be in her changing room and whose Trade Union didn't have any problem with that.

What the fuck are people arguing against Sandie Peggie doing it for? She literally just wanted to not have a man in her changing room and asked her TU to back her! Christ on a bike.

But I wouldn’t ever threaten to slap you, or wish for someone else to slap you, or that you should be harmed in any way. Because I’m just a woman who cares about women’s rights. Hope that helps.

More he’s an odious problematic man who wouldn’t leave a female changing room and has openly admitted he would intentionally ignore the wishes of a female patient. Amongst other things. I think thats why he gets called the things he does.

Right but others would argue that GC person holds views that are actively harmful and/or commited X harmful conduct towards someone else, so that's why people say the things they say about them.

It's all subjective.

Threatening to slap someone is not the only way to be a bully online.

I don’t see a lot of that, either. It doesn’t chime with my experience. I see an awful lot of taking the piss, and that’s entirely different though I suspect the average TRA is more bothered by that than people wishing harm.

men are afraid women will laugh at them
women are afraid men will kill them
