India Willoughby - can we take a moment an address the increasing hysteria and vile comments on their social media - X in particular.

In the past 24 hours he has slated Nick Wallis, JKR, Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater this list goes on.

It really feels at this stage that a close one to India should stage an intervention.

I would suggest that a person so prone to magical thinking that he believes a man can turn or be turned into a woman will have no difficulty believing that someone in their 50s can be turned onto someone in their 20s.

I suppose that's roughly what I was trying to say; deluded is deluded, and this is evidence of delusion.

They often seem to try to look like the kind of woman they think they are entitled to pull. Not one appropriate for their actual age. It's revolting, depressing and inevitably unconvincing.

I'm Catholic and go to mass just up the road from where India lives every week. This week I've been involved with a collection of clothing and toiletries for refugees, a food bank collection and an appeal for DV refuges. India should come along to one of our events and do some some good rather than spend 15 hours a day online spewing hate, threats and insults.

Goodness knows how he is going to respond to JKRs updated essay put out this afternoon. It is great. Quite emotional if I am honest.

I think he’s only supporting Muslims because of the Green Party. He will vote/support anyone he thinks will say he’s a woman.
I imagine he’s turned on the Catholic Church because they won’t.

He’s being going on lately about how he looks like he’s in his 30s, he certainly doesn’t, he looks his age totally. I imagine he believes his filtered images.

IW predictably kicking off at JKR - interesting as such a women’s rights campaigner he isnt trying to get some funding from JKR. It is all available and all in the essay.

IW now posting in response to comments made about Park Run. Claire Hallisey in particular a former 2012 GB Olympian. Randomly IW segued into asking Claire is she is a Catholic and then managed to suggest Catholic TERFS, who knew, are pushing this along with anti abortion lot.

It is utterly ridiculous. We must treat trans with the respect but the rest of us women are targeted by IW in vile and hateful terms.

There’s a well known (but uneasy) collaboration between ‘Muslim’ politics and the far left, due to Gaza primarily. IW can’t afford not to hitch his bandwagon to it because it’s the final pro trans vehicle. And I think he knows turning on Muslims wouldn’t be a good look for him. Much easier in the left wing circles to bash the (often white) Catholics.

Although of course 70-75% of the Catholics in the world are in the Global South, which the left is supposed to care about deeply.

The Catholic Church congregation in the UK is heavily propped up by Indian, Filipino, Polish and South/Central American people.

The white tradwife stereotype is actually something of a minority these days.

Of course the Catholic Church disapproves of transgender ideology, and yes of course at its heart it’s a natalist and pro life organisation. It believes in ‘natural biology’; if you will. But the difference is its followers do not buy into this to the extent they perpetrate terrorism, honour killing or the death penalty. For whatever reason they can moderate their actions better.

To be fair, they did do that centuries ago but grew out of it.

I know Savile seemed to continue from school onwards as a Roman Catholic of some sort, but I thought JKR was baptised and raised CoE and has nothing in particular to do with the Roman Catholic church. Have I got that wrong?

Historically the Catholic Church was pro ‘eunuch making’ at one point. The papal ban on castration didn’t come in until 1870…

I don't think they ever approved all that much of honour killing. (A phrase I fine utterly abhorrent: there is no the slightest scintilla of honour involved in murdering your sibling or your child or mother. We need a different one. Dishonour killing might do.)
